Graphic designer, President of the International Poster Biennial in Warsaw, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw

Born in 1947 in Olsztyn. He graduated the Graphic Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Diploma in 1972 in the studio of prof. Henryk Tomaszewski. Currently, he is a professor at the same Academy, and also the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw. Specializes in publishing and advertising graphics, as well as illustrations. He lectures and workshops at many universities around the world.

Professor Lech Majewski works with graphic and advertising design, but he is mostly associated with the form of poster. One of his posters, designed for the 16th International Meeting of Jazz Singers, was chosen as one of the 100 most important posters from Europe and the United States (1945–1990). He says that “even if the poster does not change the world, it is a great record of the place, time and event.” His posters are exhibited all over the world. He designs books in Poland and Germany. Many of his books won the competition for the most beautiful project of the year. He is the author of illustrations for TES Magazine (The Times, London). Doctor honoris causa of the University of J.E. Purkyně in Ŭstí nad Labem, Czech Republic.
